Graduation Card and Surprise Getting Cricky Stamp set #4 release!

Hello my bloggie friends!

I just got home from running/walking a 5K! PHEW! I'm whooped!  Didn't get a chance last night to schedule this post but better late than never, right?

First, let me start with this super easy and quick card I made early this morning.  We are going to a graduation party later today and I needed a card and I needed it quick!  Fortunately, I had already laid it all out in my Gypsy so it was a matter of cutting and putting it together.  It literally took me 10 minutes to put this card together.  Amazing how the right colors, cardstock and cuts and not alot of frill can still produce a great card.
Recipe:
Blue/white double-sided card-stock from my stash
DCWV Dots & Strips Card-stock
Cricut Cartridge-Locker Talk
White Sakura gel pen
ATG glue gun
Dimensionals

Now for the surprise release of Stamp set #4: Food for Thought:

I say surprise because this was a last minute brain child of Kristal's.  This woman is so amazing! I don't know how she does it all!!!!  Actually, I do know how she does it.  The Bible says "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Phil 4:13.  I'm sure she would agree that her strength comes from the Lord.

This set is so awesome because it is great for those sweet, little, love notes some parents like to leave in their kid's lunch boxes.  (I'm sorry, but, I'm not one of those awesome parents.)  It is also a versatile set that can be used on many projects.  Stop by her blog and check out how to get your hands on one of these sets or to order all 4.  She is offering a bundle discount and free shipping (limited time) on all preorders.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to come back tomorrow for my Simply Sunday Challenge post.   Have a great Saturday!

Simply Sunday Retro Dad Card

Hi everyone! Over at Getting Cricky with K Andrews' blog she has two challenges going.  The one ending this week has a "Retro Dad" theme.  This is my take on it:
Supplies used:
Cricut cartridge Sentimentals (all cuts except the word "Dad")
Cricut cartridge Beyond  Bithdays for the phrase "DAD"
Printed paper from Creative Memories
DMC floss white
Silver button
Grey cardstock from my stash
DCWV Metalic paper
ATG gun

I made this card for my darling husband because he is a "First class dad"!  Sadly, my dad is not with us anymore but I am thankful for my heavenly Father who promises to always take care of His children! The best card I can send Him is to tell you how wonderful He is!!!

Hope you like my card.  Head on over to Getting Cricky with K Andrews' blog and check it out! There is tons of inspiration to be found there!

CCCC #8-Stretch Your Imagination Challenge at More Than Favors

Hello everyone! I haven't taken part in too many challenges but when I came across this challenge I thought, "I have this cartridge. I should try this."  A card design started to come together in my head so I went for it.  I decided to make a wedding card.  My husband asked me, "who is the card for?" I said, "it's for a challenge."  I'm sure you all can relate, right?  It turns out that I do have someone I can send the card to so it serves a double purpose.

The card base is cut at 5 1/4".  The challenge was cutting the layers for the bride and groom's attire. I used my Gypsy to scale down the layers to the card base cutout.
Embossing was a challenge because the vellum was bigger then the embossing folder.
I love the effect of the embossing one the vellum. It looks like ink.
This is what it looks like under the vellum.
I love the glitter on the bride's dress and the groom's shirt!

Card Recipe:
White cardstock for base from my stash
DCWV Glitter Mat Stack
DCWV 8x8 Scrapbook Kit Love and Wedding pattern paper
Vellum paper
Cuttlebug Embossing folder - Swirls (?)
Black cardstock from stash
Sakura White Gel Pen
ATG Gun
Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge
Ribbon from Joanns
Creative Memories Black Chalk Ink Pad
Creative Memories Frosted Photo Splits to adhere the vellum

What do you think? I'm pleased! Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet, Simple and Fast Class Treats

Hi everyone!  How is life treating you?  I don't know about you but I am soooo ready for a glimpse of Spring!!  The sun has been shining the last couple of days which has been a nice treat but as soon as the snow melts it quickly becomes a sheet of ice.  Brrrr and Grrrr!

Enough of that! I have a 14 year old boy and a set of twins.  My twins have close to 30 kids in each class so that's alot of valentine treats to make.  I know some of you wonderful mothers hand make your kids' treats but that is alot!!! My 14 year has a smaller class and he really isn't interested in handing out valentines so I made these quick treats for him to take to his class.  Now, keep in mind, he is 14 and a boy, so frill and glitz is not his thing.  Which actually took the pressure off of me to make them extravagant.  He didn't even know I was making them because he would probably ask me not to  Now that they are done, he is okay with it.  Its the thought that counts right?

I used DCWV 8x8 Formal and Wedding Stack that I got at Joann's for $3.20!  It was on clearance and then I had an additional 20% coupon compliments to Joy from Obsessed with Scrapbooking. I cut them to 4x4 squares. I used my ATG gun to glue the sides together and one end. Crimped with my Fiskars Crimper Filled with Valentine M&Ms.  Cut the tags using the Tags, Bags and More Cartridge. Stamped with sentiment stamp I bought at Michaels for $1.  Viola! quick valentine treats!

Thanks for stopping by. Let me know what you think.  What would you have done to dress it up more?
