K Andrew's Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky

I'm starting to get the groove of this "challenge"thing.  I recently won at the More than Favors blog! Woo-hoo! First time!  Wish me luck for their cartridge giveaway!

For this card I used the Cricut Playtime cartridge that came with my plum E that I got for Christmas (thanks to my wonderful husband!!!!)  The patterned paper is from an old DCWV stack that I have had forever.  The "Sugar and Spice" was also cut from Playtime and the scalloped oval was cut from Gypsy Wanderings.  I used the EK Success Border punch for the pretty scalloped edge.  I used a button from the Basic Grey set I purchased recently and some hemp cord I had in my stash.  I also used some glitter glue on the crown and the star.  I purchased the glitter glue at Joanns. Oh! I almost forget the Peachy Keen stamp I used on this cuties face! I love these stamps! I broke down and ordered them when they had their 25% off sale.  I'm so happy I bought them.

This card is going to my great niece for her birthday.  The challenge at Getting Cricky with K Andrews is to make something "sweet and spicy".  That describes my niece exactly: a whole lot of sweet with a whole lot of spicy!  Love her!

Thanks for stopping by and checking me out! Love you all!

CCCC #8-Stretch Your Imagination Challenge at More Than Favors

Hello everyone! I haven't taken part in too many challenges but when I came across this challenge I thought, "I have this cartridge. I should try this."  A card design started to come together in my head so I went for it.  I decided to make a wedding card.  My husband asked me, "who is the card for?" I said, "it's for a challenge."  I'm sure you all can relate, right?  It turns out that I do have someone I can send the card to so it serves a double purpose.

The card base is cut at 5 1/4".  The challenge was cutting the layers for the bride and groom's attire. I used my Gypsy to scale down the layers to the card base cutout.
Embossing was a challenge because the vellum was bigger then the embossing folder.
I love the effect of the embossing one the vellum. It looks like ink.
This is what it looks like under the vellum.
I love the glitter on the bride's dress and the groom's shirt!

Card Recipe:
White cardstock for base from my stash
DCWV Glitter Mat Stack
DCWV 8x8 Scrapbook Kit Love and Wedding pattern paper
Vellum paper
Cuttlebug Embossing folder - Swirls (?)
Black cardstock from stash
Sakura White Gel Pen
ATG Gun
Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge
Ribbon from Joanns
Creative Memories Black Chalk Ink Pad
Creative Memories Frosted Photo Splits to adhere the vellum

What do you think? I'm pleased! Thanks for stopping by!

Creations with Christina 12 month Scrapbook Challenge-March

This is my entry for Creations with Christina Scrapbook challenge. I was able to sit and scrapbook for a little while since I had a sick kid at home.  I sooooooo want to finish this album!!! 2007 was a crazy year! Come to think of it, all the years following have been crazy since we adopted two special needs children!!!  All the more reason to get caught up so I don't forget all the good times through the craziness.  I don't like the feeling of being behind.  So many good pictures to crop!

What I need to do is focus more on the scrapbook and less on the blogging/challenges/blog hops, etc.  I'm sure you all know what I am talking about, right?  But.....it's so much fun and it gets our creative juices flowing and the credit card machines processing!!!  LOL!!!

Any hoot, here are my layouts.  Sorry the pictures came out a little crooked.  One of these days I'll invest in a 12 x 12 scanner but only if I can find a steal!!!

On this first two page layout I used DCWV Christmas paper, EK Success border punch. sparkly ribbon I bought for Christmas cards that I never used, White Sakura gel pen, Creative Memories brown fine tip pen,Stickles, Creative Memories stickers, jewels I bought from $1 bin at Michaels (gotta love that $1 bin!) and cardstock I had on hand.
Cut from Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge
Cut from Gypsy Wanderings (available on Gypsy only)
Cut from Just Because Cards Cartridge

On this second two page layout, I used Creative Memories Winter Reflections Paper. Creative Memories Star punch, Creative Memories Letter/Number stickers; pretty much everything on this layout is from Creative Memoires.

I have one more two page layout to finish off this album.  I decided to put all the birthdays on a two page layout rather then make a layout for each birthday.  This album is pretty much at its limit (capacity-wise) so I needed to condense somehow.  I'll make sure and post it when I'm done. The pictures and paper are waiting on my desk. I hope to get to it in the next couple of days along with a card challenge I want to participate in.

Thanks for stopping by.  Tell me what you think of my layouts.  BTW, thanks for following my blog! I'm blown away that it has grown some!  WOOHOO!!!!
